My purpose in life...

A song says life is like a morning fog, life is a vapour in the wind, and an entrance and an exit where temporary things are present. A life without a purpose is useless like walking in the dark where you don’t know where to go. All human being exists for a purpose and each individual aims to realize that purpose.

My purpose in life is to be a servant leader of God. I believe that I will be a blessing to everyone, to my family, friends, and love ones. Since young, I was been firm to rise up my family from scarcity of life. I am so much endeavouring to taste the abundance and sweetness of life. My purpose in life gives me the courage to pursue and fight for the truth.

PERSONALITY TRAITS TEST

 REFLECTION...

To become a good Technopreneur an individual must possess a fine personality to determine whether he or she is capable to seize the said position. In connection with this, our facilitator in Technopreneurship rendered to us a personality test that will measure our potentials of becoming a technopreneurs in the future. He has given us 30 questions to answer and I find it so interesting to answer. Throughout the period, we have evaluated ourselves and have identified that more of us are bearing the potentials to become a technopreneur. After taking the test we are asked by our facilitator to create a reflection regarding the test we had ay reflection goes like this. I remember before when we have taken an aptitude test that measures the same thing as what personality traits aiming to.
As defined in some sources, personality is the habitual patterns and qualities of any individual as expressed by physical and mental activities. We can only determine the personality of a person if we are closely knew everything about him. However there are some ways to determine the personality of a person like undertaking a self test. The results will reflect the personality that an individual possesses. In taking the test, it is also important to be honest with the answers because in this kind of a test you are measuring your capability and if you cheat you just like fooling yourself. Before we had started the test our facilitator reminds us of not to do thing that was mentioned because it would be bias in our part. Unlike with the other test, personality traits test or aptitude test is different where you don’t need to study a numerous books as a reference but all you have to do is to check and made some assessment to yourself in order to answer the different questions follows. In this test, there is no mistake and as well as no correct because every answer will be given a corresponding equivalent. The equivalent of the total result is the basis of rating or giving the range of the test. There was an assigned equivalent to every result and with correspond to the result is the description that identifies the taker’s status. The result of the test can be consider as fair because the taker was the one who made the decision and the choices in other words no one dictates him the choice.
Our personality can be developed through the influences of some factors involving the family, school, organizations, group of friends, and even interaction with peers. Interpersonal activities are needed in order to mingle and communicate with others as a way of building a good relationship toward others. These activities will let everyone to recognize and discover their personalities as de they deal with other people. I believe that different people you mingle is different attitude you are acting especially when that person is new or stranger to you. A personality needs discovery and this could be attained only through engaging in activities that will definitely develop a person’s attitude as he supposed to be. A man that has a pleasing personality not only outside but inside is a man with a better career in the future. The first is more important than the latter because inside personality is more blessed than the other and the said personality of a person would be one of the means of his success. It is useless for a person example to a businessman of having a presentable appearance outside and the fact that he or she has an opposite appearance inside. We cannot deny the fact that today; most of the hired employees are having a pleasing outside personality especially those careers which is dealing with different personalities. Somehow, I was disappointed with this reality because the essence of intelligence was disregarded.
While I’m answering, I made some realizations out of the questions. Every question checks my personality towards business and gives me a hint on earning money in a fair manner. Some questions are situational and some are practical. The test result amazed me because it was stated there that somewhat I have the potential to be good technopreneur and me in myself got more interested to engage in more businesses. At first, I doubt if I really fit to be in business because I don’t even know my abilities and potentials in business but when I recognize the result of the personality test, I was then hoping to become a technopreneur someday. I got also some difficulties in answering the questions because some are in contrast with my attitude and you need to weigh it according to what is more favourable. I was surprised with the questions because I didn’t expect that it would go like that and it was my first time to take a personality traits test.
“Personality is the mirror of oneself.” I arrived with this quote because as I reflect with the questions that were given to us, I was hit with some of the questions where you have to decide and choose the answer that best pictures yourself if you will be handling a business in the future. The questions are stated based on your views about business. In order for you to answer the different questions you have to put yourself upon the situation in other words you must consider already yourself as a business minded one. One of my realization is that I think before some of the businessman engage with their chosen career they have also undergo with this kind of test and it made easy for them to deal in business world because they have already identified their selves on how they will going to treat business. Maybe this is also the reason why lots of businessmen nowadays are successful with their career because they have these personalities. When someone had already gone through this test, he will be enables to identify or recognize his weaknesses and mistakes and changes that are needed by him to be a good entrepreneur someday. The result of the test is not just a thing that we have to ignore or surpass but a responsibility that requires much time and enough attention to sufficed with. We are accountable to develop ourselves as soon as we enter the world of business otherwise we would be blaming ourselves of not doing our part. Always remember that a person could only realize the importance of something when it is already out of his sight. This time might be the best time for us as a student to practice and train ourselves for the real battle in the future where we will be walking along the road of our different careers.
Personality traits test is important to those people whom are interested in business because it is one way of determining their competency and capability in business. If you are a businessman it is important for you to be positive with your work and able to cope with some changes and differences you would encounter along the way of your career. For example, you are impatient one; it will not provide a good result to your management because it might be the reason of having an unorganized flow of the business. The test would also examine on how you handles and valued money when it is already on good course. Knowing that business is a career where you would be dealing different scenarios and with different people it is necessary to have a good approach with them.
In addition, I in myself can say that I have the potential of becoming an entrepreneur because as what stated in the result I am somewhat entrepreneur. Somewhat, I am agree with the result because there is part of me which is fond of business. I like to experience business someday and to apply the insights I gained from this course. Not only the insights I have gained but also the hints and techniques on how to handle businesses properly to achieve success. Recalling the personality traits test reminds me of what is needed to do and what is not necessary in business. The test does not only address to the approach towards business but also it speaks to our individual lives, on how we live with it. Our personality shows the real us in this world. We all know that in the world is full of changes and adjustments that really affect our attitudes towards these things. The test can help us to be reminded basically in doing great things that is probably elevate us to success and also to improve our characteristics.
Someone who has a great personality is able to adopt and understand everything as how it approaches to individual life. Somehow, each has given an opportunity to cope with the different situations that life may bring every day. There are times that a person is tend to change or alter his or her personality for the sake of others and also for a change but it is a fact that every one of us has given a unique personality that was planted within us since we are in the womb of our mothers. The inborn personalities that we had also need development and maturity. As we go older, our personality matures as well. This is one of the things that made an individual distinct from others. No matter what happens no one can steal this from an individual.
It is reality that sometimes our personality leads us to danger and sometimes results to failure to an individual. Like for an instance, one person have misinterpreted others attitude and suddenly may direct to conflicts. To avoid this case, one side should know the characteristics and the differences of the other side. Through this approach, both parties would be aware of what is happening between them and each side will be able to communicate with each other. There are times that when conflicts arise, the real personality of a person comes out. There are different types of personality that involves the personality that is easy to understand and others are not. Easy to understand in a sense that a person who has this personality is open to every changes may occur and is willing to accept new ideas that he think would be helpful to him to improve himself. However, there are personalities that are hard to understand due to some situations that only the subject person is the one who understands his self. There are couple of times that I have encountered this kind of a person and sometimes I’m becoming one of them. I can say that I am becoming one of them because sometimes I can feel in myself that I’m too much defeated by my personality which sometimes others cannot understand me anymore. I think this is also the reason why I can feel loneliness and depressed. There are times also that even my friends can feel disappointment about the attitude that I am showing to them. As I evaluated myself, I can consider myself as person with a weak personality. However, there are person that was born with a strong and firm personality that whatever happens no one can ever change and correct. I salute to this kind of people because they showed a great determination to achieve success in life. Whether there are failures they continue striving for their goal and they did not worry to be shaken of the situations. They are the kind of person that is determined to fight and to stand with their principles and beliefs.
In general, the personality traits test is one of the multiple means to identify a person’s personality towards something. Something which a person desired to or something that can be consider as a new interest for them. The set of questions that is involve in the personality traits test best evaluates ones manner in getting involve with something just like business.

REFLECTION(PIRATES OF THE SILICON VALLEY)

1. What are the factors that contributed to the success and failure of Steve Jobs as a technopreneur?

The “Pirates of the Silicon Valley” is a movie where four great personalities were described by their characteristics and attitudes towards their work that became a reason for them to be in the peak of success. These great personalities that I am talking about were the famous Bill Gates that was known to us as the richest man at the present, Paul, where Bill Gate’s partner. On the other hand, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the owners of Apple Corporation are best of friends ever. During the close competition between the computer companies, is also the existence of the conflict between the two companies. It was happen when Bill Gates stole the system of the Apple Computers and he added new features and applications to it that give them a big opportunity to be known in the field of computers all over the world. After that big change, Apple Computers was already owned by Bill Gates, the owner of Microsoft.

There were lots of definitions of success but all of its meaning talks only about the fruit of all the sacrifices of a person. Success means having a clarity and purpose of vision. To become successful one needs a determination, skill, talent, knowledge and self-motivation. If you really want to learn how to be successful in life you’re going to have to face up to who you are today in order to become the person you want to be tomorrow. You must examine your thoughts, actions, beliefs, emotions, and who you surround yourself with. In the movie, Steve Jobs as one of the main characters, he shows that he has these characters that made him a successful technopreneur. He was determined to achieve what he desires although he encounters rejections he always opens his hand for a second chances and it greatly shows a positive response of being a good technopreneur. Steve Jobs is also good in assembling computer hardware. This skill was developed together with his friend Steve Wozniak as his partner in success. Together with this skill was his talent of a good speaker that helps a lot to them to convince more clients to invest with their company, not only in investments but also in introducing their projects to people who are also interested in technology. Lastly, Steve Job’s inaccessible knowledge about computers and his creativity and self-motivation to accomplish the job contributes a lot his victory. Watching him doing those hardware components is just like playing a piece of nothing that makes him amazing. All of these describe a simple Steve Job, a successful man in the world of computers.

In addition to the success of Steve Jobs, everyone around him also contributes a lot to his success. One this is his friend Steve Wozniak with whom he opens everything about his life even his failures in some things he made. Steve Wozniak was the one who understands his unpredictable attitudes a kind of weird attitude. When you see Steve Jobs at the first time, you can say that he might suffering from a mental problems but the truth is that was really he is. Steve Wozniak was able to adjust with his friend because he understands the struggles of Steve Jobs. Both of them are happy with their lives, living with computers and those computers are the reason why their friendship is going strong and firm during their partnership in the Apple Computers.

However, person fails not because of someone’s influence. One can experience failures if he or she within herself or himself doesn’t know how to cope up with the situation. In some instances people also fails because of lack of motivation, though a person has a lot of talent and if he is not motivated it is futile. Steve is not that really perfect. He has the attitude of a person which is lack of self control that makes an individual so aggressive in some aspects. Some of this attitudes was became the reason why Steve Jobs fails. He loses his friendship with Steve Wozniak because of his selfishness and being inconsiderate. He wants to control everything in the company. He is very rude to his employees, he always demands for a fast accomplishment of their products without his considering the situation. In general, Steve Jobs is an inconsiderate and impatient one. All of these were also the reasons why he loses all his achievements as a technopreneur. 

Furthermore, money is also one of the factors that affects to the failure of Steve Jobs. Because of the money he aims more, even the IBM which is the most top earners of Microcomputers is one of his targets to be defeated. It is a fact that in a business there is always a competition between the companies. There are companies who excel and some are also fails. Every businessman aims a bigger sales and income but as a businessman it is also important to be fair with your opposing company. Once a company fails, that should be the time to be more competitive globally. Lack of self temperance is also one of the reasons why Steve Jobs easily get annoyed to his employees. He cannot learn to wait for further explanations because he believes that he is always right that he is the leader and his employees are just only his followers. He runs the Apple Company through what he thinks is right although everyone is having difficulties in doing the job.

            Since I have already distinguished the characteristics of Steve Jobs as a Technopreneur as what have shown in the movie, I can say in myself that as a future technopreneur I must have those good characteristics of Steve Jobs except for those are negative. For me to be happy and contented in my desired position someday is already a big achievement in my part. In a business, the real basis of being a good technopreneur is you know how to compete with others fairly. Through the above mentioned good characteristics it would be easy for me to adjust and learn the basic concepts of being a good technopreneur in the future.

2. How do you see yourself as a technopreneur?

            Companies nowadays are looking forward for an excellent, skillful, talented and deserving workforce that would probably make a change to the history of their business. Anyone that will open a big opportunity to the investors and businessman to the door of a great competition and showcase of highly developed skills of an entrepreneur still close for a new innovation. A good technopreneur is innovative, innovative in a sense of having a creative mind to convert something from a simple into a more useful and functional for the growth of the company.

Engaging a business is an investment. To become a technopreneur meaning you invest everything you have. You are supposed to show everything from you including your talent and your skill, in short you invest yourself. In entering a business, you also have to show a lot of self confidence and positive philosophy in life. Like Steve Jobs who became a dreamer and believes that there is a big distinction between a leader and a follower. He stands for he know what he believes is right. To be a successful technopreneur, you will go through different competitions and probably failures and it is normal in handling a businesses.

                                    

            Since, at my young age, I was always thought by my parents that I should study well for me to achieve my dreams and so I can lend my hand to them someday. That dream for me was became my guide to pursue and strive hard in my studies and it makes me always reminded to become an employee someday. Every time I notice an employee wearing their office uniforms and carrying their brief cases entering a very huge establishment I used to dream to be one of them. Now, I am already college and was already able to understand everything around me, the essence of living and the big difference between an employee and an employer. I realized that employee won’t exist without the presence of an employer. In other words an employee is only dependent to the salary that they would earn from their employer. I have arrived in an idea that the one that was thought to me by my parents was wrong because their dream for me is to become only an employee of those employer who are enjoying the life that I have been working every day. From that sad fact, I’ve learned that I should dream and aim for more because I believe that each of us was given that privilege to be a good technopreneur. Each of us has given characteristics that we can share and prove to others. Even at your young age you can make possibilities upon it.

In that small realization, I want to be one of the top earners in the country even in the whole world. I can compete with those technopreneur that was already made a record in the world of technoprenuership. The only weapon that I have is my attitude of being a dreamer and a believer of me. Technoprenuership really amaze me because it doesn’t only matters about the degree or profession you have achieve in life but as long as you have the trust, courage and determination to achieve something you can already consider as a good future technopreneur.

Being a technopreneur is not an easy career. One should have enough knowledge and techniques in running a business and it would become more complicated. If we talk about techno it means that it is related to technology. Everyone are aware of the difficulties that to be faced if technology is the subject because it is not easy to deal with. I can picture out myself today that I would be a technopreneur in the future and of course it would be a great legacy in my part. Imagine from a simple student to a one of the technopreneur of the country and in the whole world and it is ridiculous. I can see myself dealing with different people with different positions and perspective in business. I think if I would given a chance to become a technopreneur in the future I can say that I would become a successful one because even today I can evaluate myself for those quality that a good technopreneur has.

Recently, I’ve been starting a small business although it’s not really that kind of a big business it gives a lot of help to me as a student. I consider this small business as my training ground for the future. I believe that I have the capabilities of being a productive and resourceful attitude of a business man. In this training ground I’ve already practicing the attitude of being an entrepreneur even in small things. I don’t let myself think that life is not that easy that everything has always a cost so I don’t waste even a small unit of time for those non-sense things. I am practicing to be productive and resourceful future technopreneur. I also come up with the word “workaholic” meaning addicted to work. Being a workaholic doesn’t mean that there is no more time for another staff but it refers to an attitude of a technopreneur where he gives all his devotion to his work.

Becoming a technopreneur in the future will confer a big change into my life as a dreamer into a great achiever. All we need is to open up our minds into many changes, accept new ideas, make firm decisions and fear nothing. Always bear in mind that there is nothing constant in this world but only change. Think as a technopreneur.

3. Would you take the same career path that Steve Jobs took? Why or why not?

Taking a technopreneur subject is one of the best decisions I made. Since, when I’m not yet deciding of my course to take, Information Technology does not intervene in my mind for I’m always wondering if what work I would obtain from that course someday. Then, I came to realize that I think I made the right choice. Technopreneur subject provides me the hint if where I am someday maybe after 10 years from now. My mind was enlighten when our facilitator tells us that we can be a good technopreneur if we just let ourselves explore and grab every opportunities that the technology is sharing to us. He emphasizes that technology is opening a portal for us as an IT students to enter inside the technoprenuership world.

Every person was born for a specific reason. Each has its own definition and goals in life. An individual took also the best steps in life in order also to achieve what is the best like better position, a successful life, and a bountiful living. It was already in a person’s perspective to achieve those things that they think would give a real happiness and satisfaction and these things can be measured by those material things they obtain through the efforts that they have exerted. Besides, it can only feel if a person has chosen the better carrier he ought and desired to possess. As observed, a person is seems satisfied if he is enjoying what he is doing otherwise, a person is discontented and appears effortless if doesn’t love his work. The latter is likely happens if their as a “no choice” of a job. He would be forced to engage in that kind of a job even he is not totally agree with the job.

Since it is early, it is good to have a systematize mind set when it comes to choosing a better career in life. It is important to a person to be aware of every action he takes. Through that, he will be guided and be motivated to every task he do. A person must be careful of the career  choose be would like to choose because once he have chosen to enter in that kind of a career it is difficult to get out of it. Choosing a career must undergo first in a long process of thinking and decision making to gain no regrets in the end. It must be remembered that an opportunity to choose a career only knock at once so it is important to be vigilant of our choices. Moreover, taking the wrong path in choosing the career would probably lead to failure. 

The introduction tells us how our chosen career affects our lives and to go over with the question, it is already obvious that my answer is a big no!,.. ask me why??it is because of the reason that Steve Jobs became a horrific example of  technopreneur. He shows the attitude of being unfair to everyone and even to his self. The movie Pirates of the Silicon Valley portrays the real Steve Jobs which involves his characteristics as a technopreneur and how he lives life in accordance with his principles and viewpoints. Partly, he is worthy to follow for his determination and courage to achieve his goals but if we sum up all his actions we can conclude that his actions are considered disgusting to the eyes of everyone especially to those people who already know who he really is.

The path that Steve Jobs took is becoming a successful technopreneur of Apple Company. In his company, they introduce computers that become well-known to everyone during their time and even in the present generation. On the other hand, one of the good things he had in life was gone when he loses one of his assets which, the Macintosh, a microcomputer that was built by Apple Company. Macintosh that time lifted them up to the competition of new technology. Here it comes Bill Gates the man of piracy in which he stole the concept of Macintosh that Steve Jobs failed to protect. Because of that incident, it became easier to Bill Gates to invade the Apple Company and holds the neck of Steve Jobs.

 In addition, life of Steve Jobs twisted into opposite direction in just a snap. We cannot blame Steve Jobs because in any way he did his part to boost the name of Apple but in some ways, he became also the reason of his own failure. One mistake also of Steve Jobs is when he took for granted everything that comes along his way and the sad fact is that he let the wise Bill Gates rule over him that unexpectedly makes him to be an employee to his own company which is the Apple.

 If I were Steve Jobs, I can say that I will not take the path the same with him because I can’t imagine myself suffering from the bitterness of failure. Although failure is an ordinary circumstance to every human being still it is not an excuse to experience the agony especially in the situation of Steve Jobs that he was pounded by Bill Gates using his own product and idea. Imagine, how wise Bill Gates is, besides of his ability to pirate anything he wants he also has the talent to steal from others. If ever this would happen to me as a technopreneur, I would prefer to discontinue the business and put up another one. Although, it is not easy to do that yet I will utilize the skills and ability I had to start again. It is a depressing way to move on but I have nothing to do with it because that’s the reality.

In a business, there is always the existence of what we call jealousy, which pushes someone to do wrong just to acquire what they want. They almost give everything in exchange of more useful one. If jealousy is there between both sides, it is not far to have a conflict and pulling of one’s life down from its career. In this sense, technopreneur’s focus is already in overcoming other’s ability instead of achieving the goals of their business. To defeat this mentality of a technopreneur, it is important to bear in mind that as a technopreneur you need to convey those characteristics that would definitely make you successful.

I believe that these possible experiences would be my stepping stone for tomorrow. A new learning was added unto me and that is to become a good sport to your co-technopreneur, don’t be over confident and learn to admit failures and move on. It can give you nothing if you let yourself stock in that situation so be guided and always go for the goal.
